NYC B-11k #6721, Utica, NY

This 0-6-0 was built at Alco’s Schenectady, NY, works in 1913 for the New York Central as #621. In 1936, it was renumbered #6721.

Sold to the Central Illinois Public Service Company at Hutsonville, IL, in 1953, it was renumbered #7. Ten years later, it was bought by the Mid-Continent Railway Historical Society and moved to North Freedom, WI. The Music and Arts Foundation in Dayton, OH, bought the engine in 1980 and put it on display at Carillon Park. In 1997 it was sold to a group in Utica, NY, and is now on display at the Utica Station.

#6721 weighs 171,000 lbs, with 58” drivers and 21” x 28” cylinders. Operating at 180 psi, it delivered 32,570 lbs tractive effort.
