This Ten Wheeler (4-6-0) type locomotive was built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works in Philadelphia, PA, one of ten
K-14 Class unsuperheated engines delivered to the Atlantic Coast Line in 1910 (#245-#254).

The K-14s were rebuilt by the ACL as superheated locomotives with piston valves in 1920. Weighing 179,940
lbs, 133,890 lbs on their 69” drivers, the engine wheelbase was 24’ 3” and driver wheelbase 13’ 6”. The grate area was 44.1 sq ft and the 162 sq ft firebox included 30.1 sq ft of
arch tubes. Total heating surface was 2,332 sq ft, including 426 sq ft superheating. With 20” x 26” cylinders and
operating at a boiler pressure of 200 psi, they delivered 25,623 lbs tractive effort. The tender weighs 120,000 lbs light and has a capacity of 6,000 gallons of water and 15½ tons of
coal.

#250 was the last steam locomotive in service for the Atlantic Coast Line, running between Wilmington and Fayetteville, NC, into the 1950s. It was retired in the early 1950s and put on display at the old ACL Tampa Division offices and then at the new Seaboard Coastline Tampa Division office building at Yeoman Yard in Tampa, FL.
