
An 0-6-0 built in 1911 for the New England Gas & Coke Company in Everett, MA, by the Baldwin Locomotive Works in Philadelphia, PA, #4 weighs 141,000 lbs. With 51” drivers and 21” x 26” cylinders, it operated at a boiler pressure of 190 psi delivering 36,200 lbs tractive effort.
In 1941, #4 was sold to the Edaville Corporation in Wakefield, MA, and was then moved to North Walpole, NH. It became part of the F. Nelson Blount collection in 1966, later the Steamtown Foundation.
In 1986, it was sold to the Gorham Historical Society and is now on display liveried as GTW #7531 on Railroad St opposite Gorham Common.
